Client’s Story
During a recent mental therapy session, a client shared that she was experiencing significant breastfeeding challenges, including pain and engorgement. She did not have access to a breast pump, leaving her without a way to relieve discomfort or maintain her milk supply safely.
Because of the strong coordination within our team, support was provided during that same visit. A loaner breast pump and instructions were quickly provided, along with education materials on breast milk storage to ensure she had clear, accessible guidance.
During the conversation, our team also learned she did not have a safe sleep space for her 6-month-old baby. Safe sleep education was provided immediately, and arrangements were made for a Pack ’n Play so her baby would have a safe place to sleep.
In just one visit, this mom received:
Mental health support
Breastfeeding assistance
Pain relief solutions
Safe sleep education
Essential baby equipment
This comprehensive approach ensured both mother and child were supported, safe, and able to continue their breastfeeding journey with greater comfort and confidence.
