Meet Our Staff

Sally Edington, Director
Sally is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Indiana, with a bachelors degree in Social Work from Ball State University. She began working for Healthier Moms and Babies when it started in 1996 as the project social worker. In 1997, she became the Project Coordinator, supervising staff as well as maintaining a caseload. Since 2003, Sally has been responsible for fundraising, and public relations in addition to supervision. Her previous work experience includes Director of Social Services at Three Rivers Clinic (now Neighborhood Health Clinic), the Fort Wayne Womens’ Bureau, Childbirth Educator and the Allen and Wells County Welfare Departments (now the Division of Family Resources and Department of Child Services). Sally graduated from Leadership Fort Wayne in 2007.

Louise Magoon, Nurse
Louise has a Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan.
She joined Healthier Moms and Babies in October of 2000. Her previous experience includes years as the Health Educator at Matthew 25, an outreach nurse for a prenatal outreach project in Rochester, New York, pediatric nurse at Parkview Hospital and Mott’s Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and an U.S. Embassy nurse in Cameroon. Louise is bilingual in Spanish and represents Healthier Moms and Babies at the Hispanic Social Service Network.

Deb O’Bryan, Nurse
Deb has an Associate Degree in Nursing from Purdue University. She is our newest staff person, starting in September of 2007. She has Med-Surg hospital experience and years of experience at Aldersgate Methodist Church Preschool and Childcare.
 

Aisha Hicks, Social Worker
Aisha Hicks has a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of St. Francis. She began work at Healthier Moms and Babies in March 2008. Previously, Aisha was an IMPACT Case Manager with Arbor Education and Training, the Program/Clinical Coordinator with Whitington Homes and Services for Children and Families, a Food Stamp Outreach Associate with Community Harvest Food Bank, and a Teen Retention Counselor with Planned Parenthood in Santa Barbara, California, where she is originally from. Aisha is bilingual in Spanish and attends Covering Kids and Families of North East Indiana and Social Services Network meetings for Healthier Moms and Babies.

Our social workers and nurses are all Certified Prenatal Care Coordinators.

Brenda Geiger, Administrative Assistant
Brenda has an Associate Degree in Accounting from IVY Tech State College. She joined our staff in June of 2007. Her previous work experience was at Fort Wayne Community Schools, Sherbondy Associates, ITT A/CD and North American Van Lines.
